Professor Farid Najm, chair of the Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, has officially announced the promotion of six ECE professors, effective July 1, 2013.
Professors Jason Anderson and Joyce Poon were promoted to associate professor with tenure.
Tenured appointments are granted on the basis of three essential criteria: achievement in research and creative professional work, effectiveness in teaching, and clear promise of future intellectual and professional development.
Professors Manfredi Maggiore, Lacra Pavel, Costas Sarris and Amr Helmy were promoted to the rank of full professor.
Each of these professors has established a wide reputation in his or her field of interest, continues to be deeply engaged in scholarly work, and has shown himself or herself to be an effective teacher.
A warm congratulations to each faculty member on this momentous achievement in his or her academic career.
