As an electrical and computer engineering student at the University of Toronto, you can engage in programs, workshops, and clubs that enhance your academic journey. Join the ECE Ambassador Program   

The ECE Ambassador Program invites undergraduate and graduate students to help build a welcoming, engaged community within ECE at the University of Toronto. As an ambassador, you’ll represent the department at in-person events and on social media while supporting activities that enrich student life. You will have the chance to share your ideas, contribute to new initiatives, and work alongside the Chair’s Office, connecting with faculty, staff, and peers along the way. This flexible commitment helps you grow your leadership skills while giving back to your ECE community. 

Advantages of being an ECE Ambassador include:

Summer Workshop ECE

Participate in our ECE Summer Workshops

Available during the summer months for some fun? No problem, we’ve got you covered. The Electrical and Computer Engineering Summer Workshops offer first- and second-year undergraduate students a chance to engage in hands-on technical projects in a playful, stress-free environment. Covering both hardware and software, these workshops create a welcoming pipeline for students to build skills and confidence outside the classroom. Through designing, building, and testing projects like solar flashlights or robots, you’ll see how your coursework comes alive while connecting with peers and faculty. 

Advantages of participating in the ECE Summer Workshops include:

  • Gain hands-on skills in both hardware and software design

Connect through the ECE MEng Advisory Board   

The ECE MEng Advisory Board invites Master of Engineering (MEng) students at the University of Toronto to collaborate with staff from the ECE Graduate Office to enhance the graduate student experienceBy sharing feedback and ideas, board members help the program grow in a positive, forward-looking way while ensuring it keeps pace with technological and market shifts. Students on the board contribute to initiatives that connect industry with students, bring valuable insights into the program, and foster a stronger sense of community within ECE.

The ECE Club is the heart of undergraduate student life in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. As an ECE student, you're automatically part of this club, making it your first step into a welcoming and connected community of peers. 

Run by a passionate team of student volunteers, the ECE Club hosts a wide range of academic and social events designed to enrich your university experience. From the legendary ECE Dinner Dance to mentorship programs for lower-year students to managing popular student spaces like the ECE Common Room and Study Hall, the club brings students together and helps them thrive in their academic journey. 

It also plays an important role in advocating for students, acting as a bridge between students and professors on key academic matters.
