Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) Graduate Orientation
On Thurs. Sep. 8, 2022, Prof. Mo Mojahedi (Associate Chair, Graduate Studies) will host orientation sessions in the Great Hall, Hart House to welcome new graduate students who will join the Department in the 2022-23 academic year. Students starting in both September and January are welcome to attend.
The information session component will provide an opportunity for incoming students to learn about academic and research opportunities in ECE and other information relevant to graduate studies.
- The session for research-stream (MASc and PhD) students will commence at 11:00am and run for approximately one hour.
- The session for professional-stream (MEng) students will commence at 1:30pm and run for approximately one hour.
All incoming students are encouraged to join us in the Great Hall, Hart House at 12:15pm for a mix-and-mingle lunch reception. Students will have the opportunity to meet professors, returning ECE students, and other incoming students across all three of our degree programs.
Pre-registration is not required for ECE’s orientation.
Information about ECE’s orientation for students starting in the Winter 2023 session will be announced in the fall.
New students are also encouraged to attend the orientation offered by the School of Graduate Studies.
The University of Toronto Graduate Students’ Union (UTGSU) may hold an orientation for new graduate students. If offered, details will be posted on the UTGSU website.
The Centre for International Experience (CIE) will offer a number of pre-arrival and welcome services for new international students. Details are posted on the CIE website.
