International M.Eng. Students – Working in Canada

  • International students on most study permits are eligible to work full-time on campus, and up to 20 hours per week off campus. It is imperative that international students check their individual study permits, however, as some border service agents may use their discretionary powers to impose greater restrictions on work.
  • The Summer session is not a scheduled break for graduate students in ECE. Therefore, the 20-hour per week cap on off-campus work applies to all academic sessions, including the Summer session.
