Financial Package

International M.A.Sc. students will receive an annual package of at least $28,400 CAD. The table summarizes the components of the financial package and their sources.

Financial support at this level will continue up to and including two years (24 months) of M.A.Sc. registration, provided the student maintains good standing and makes satisfactory progress toward the completion of the degree. The ECE Graduate Office will determine whether a student meets the “good standing” and “satisfactory progress” requirements, according to the ECE Policy on Satisfactory Academic Performance.

In the event that an international M.A.Sc. student becomes a permanent resident of Canada, he will receive financial support at the level prescribed for a domestic M.A.Sc. student.

  • Total income includes graduate student assistantship, all internal and external awards, and other university and government sources, foreign or domestic.
  • Scholarship may be provided by the University of Toronto Fellowship, Rogers Scholarship, the NSERC Postgraduate or Canada Graduate Scholarship, the Vanier Scholarship, the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), the Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (OGSST), the Connaught Scholarship, or any other university or government sources, foreign or domestic.
  • There are several types of Connaught Scholarship. Where Connaught requires a contribution from the Department, the contribution may be provided through the University of Toronto Fellowship, Rogers Scholarship, the NSERC Postgraduate or Canada Graduate Scholarship, the Vanier Scholarship, the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), the Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (OGSST), or any other university or government sources, foreign or domestic.
