Application Procedures

Student Application Instructions

In order to apply, students must complete the following by Nov. 16, 2023. Late or incomplete applications cannot be considered.

  • Complete the application form
    • A single application form can be submitted if you are applying for multiple awards
  • For each award you are applying to, submit the following documents as a single combined PDF file to advising.masc.phd.ece@utoronto.ca (use the naming convention ‘SURNAME_First Names_Award Name 2024’):
    • A one-page statement outlining your academic and research successes to date (applicants should demonstrate academic excellence) and, if relevant, how you meet any of the ‘Other requirements’ listed under the award’s eligibility requirements.
    • A current CV
    • A current ACORN printout of your complete U of T academic history
    • All other post-secondary academic transcripts
    • If ‘Financial Need’ is an eligibility requirement, then the form hyperlinked after ‘Financial Need’ must also be submitted. Note that there are two different financial need forms, so it is important to complete and submit the form indicated for the award you are applying to.
  • Your supervisor must also submit a letter of support to advising.masc.phd.ece@utoronto.ca by the deadline.
    • It is the student’s responsibility to (1) request the letter of support early enough for the supervisor to meet the deadline and (2) remind the supervisor, if needed, to meet the deadline.
    • A single letter of support can be submitted by your supervisor if you are applying for multiple awards
