Magellan (online course selection tool)

Magellan is a software tool that has been developed in-house in order to help you plan and verify both your program and CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) requirements.

It was developed in order to make it easy to verify the CEAB requirements as it automatically calculates the academic units (AU’s) when you are building your study plans for 3rd and 4th year. In addition, it will confirm the program requirements at a glance. Magellan will allow you to set up as many as 30 test profiles when planning your course selection.

If a student is unsure of what they want to do, there are a number of streams or course packages called “Built-In/Public Profiles” that have been developed by the departments’ Curriculum Committee Members (CMC). These “Built-In/Public Profiles” can be used as inspiration for a student to help develop more concrete decisions on their own. A student is also free to use one of the public profiles as their template. If at any time a student has questions about their curriculum decisions, please email askece@ecf.utoronto.ca or drop by the Undergraduate Office (SFB600).
