Focus in Signal Processing

Students who wish to focus their M.Eng. studies in Communications-Signal Processing may use the following course plan, subject to the availability of courses:

  • General M.Eng. requirements apply
  • Three required courses
    • One course from ECE537H Random Processes or ECE1639H Analysis or Control of Stochastic Systems I
    • One course from ECE1511H Signal Processing or ECE1512H Digital Image Processing and Applications
    • ECE516H Intelligent Image Processing
  • Three elective courses
    • At least one course from ECE1511H Signal Processing, ECE1512H Digital Image Processing and Applications, ECE1515H Smart Antennas, ECE1529H Adaptive Systems for Signal Processing and Communications, ECE1530H Multi-user Detection, ECE1514H Spectral Analysis and Array Processing, ECE1516H Visual Data Engineering or ECE1502H Information Theory
    • At most 2 courses to be chosen from ECE or extra-ECE courses
  • Three optional courses, which may include three engineering management and leadership (APS1000-series) courses
  • Three-course project (ECE2500Y) in the field of Communications-Signal Processing (subject to approval of supervisor) may be taken in lieu of three non-required courses
