Focus in Communication Networks
Students who wish to focus their M.Eng. studies in Communications-Communication Networks may use the following course plan, subject to availability of courses:
- General M.Eng. requirements apply
- Three required courses
- One course from ECE537H Random Processes or ECE1502H Information Theory
- One course from ECE1541H Communication Networks I or ECE1545H Bridges and Routers
- ECE1548H Advanced Network Architectures
- Three elective courses
- At least one course from ECE537H Random Processes, ECE 1502H Information Theory, ECE1540H Digital Telephony, ECE1541H Communication Networks I, ECE1542H Communication Networks II, ECE1544H Optical Communication Networks, ECE1545H Bridges and Routers, or ECE1547H Content-Based and Network Security, ECE1546H Broadband Integrated Network (courses listed as required which are not used as required may be used as electives)
- Maximum of two courses to be chosen from ECE or extra-ECE courses
- Three optional courses, which may include three engineering management and leadership (APS1000-series) courses
- Three-course project (ECE2500Y) in the field of Communications-Communication Networks (subject to approval of supervisor) may be taken in lieu of three non-required courses
