Competition 2012-13

Application forms and competition guidelines (including eligibility requirements) are available on the web: NSERC; Vanier; OGS; for OGSST, please use the OGS application form.

NEW THIS YEAR: Eligible students who apply for OGSST must also apply for OGS in the same competition.

Graduate students registered in ECE, and fourth-year undergraduate students in the Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering options must submit their NSERC applications to the ECE Graduate Office.

Students must submit a complete application package for each scholarship to which they are applying. The package will include all relevant application forms, two references (each in a sealed envelope, bearing the referee’s signature across the back flap), transcripts, as well as any other supporting documents that may be required.

NSERC, Vanier and OGS have instituted the following requirements with respect to transcripts:

NSERC and Vanier require original transcripts from all universities (including those in Canada, the United States and abroad). Photocopies from student files will not be accepted. ROSI printouts will not be accepted. In cases where the student is new to the University of Toronto for Fall 2011, and therefore has no grades on the current U of T transcript, a transcript from U of T will not be required.

OGS requires original transcripts from all North American universities. Photocopies from student files will not be accepted. ROSI printouts will not be accepted. In cases where the student is new to the University of Toronto for Fall 2011, and therefore has no grades on the current U of T transcript, a transcript from U of T will not be required. Photocopies of transcripts from foreign universities (i.e., those outside North America) will be accepted where it is not possible to obtain the original. Such photocopies must be authenticated by the ECE Graduate Office.
Information Session
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will hold an NSERC and OGS information session as follows:
Tuesday, September 13, 2011 6:00 p.m. Bahen Centre, 40 St. George Street Room 1170
Fourth-year undergraduate students in CE and EE options and MASc and PhD students registered in ECE are encouraged to attend.
